RoboDuk, designed & built by Finlay Williams in 1998, was the first flashing wing decoy on the market.   It was so effective that it was quickly copied by several manufacturers.  RoboDuks are quality built with the hunter in mind.  Everything needed to use the decoy is included, and every decoy is extensively tested before packaging.  We expect our decoys to provide many trouble-free seasons.

At season opening in 1998 we were using a product called a "Turbo Kite", which was a Styrofoam kite that had a spinning action and was originally used as a child's toy, but we found it to be very effective in attracting ducks.  We found two problems - they were very fragile and when there was no wind they didn't operate.

In order to solve these problems, I built a motorized version out of metal.  This was the original RoboDuk.  Everyone was amazed how effective this decoy was, and the word spread quickly.  Soon the local hardware store was purchasing and reselling them.  We couldn't make them fast enough, by the end of 1998 we had hunters offering huge sums of money and driving great distances to get one of our metal decoys.

When the smoke cleared at the end of the season, we decided we had something here, but to make it more marketable it would need to look more "ducky."  This was when we changed our style to the G&H shell with spinning wings.  Since that time many manufacturers have seen our success and made knock-offs of our products.
